Art Hand, Chief Technology Officer
Art Hand is an Information Technology professional who assists small businesses and entrepreneurs through the difficulties presented by emerging technologies. As a long time resident and a graduate of Marshall University, Art has strong ties to the Huntington tri-state community.
Art’s technology career began as an early interest in electronics and emerging technologies like the advent of the “personal computer”. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from Marshall University, Art launched his formal career working in the IT departments of Marshall University and Inco Alloys International Inc. While at the Marshall University Computing Services, Art was deeply involved in the advent of another emerging technology, The Internet.
In 1997, Art used this formal IT experience joining a local start-up internet company serving as chief technology officer and seeing that company through from the original 3 partners to over 100 employees covering 7 states. Getting back to his roots in 2001, Art founded Information Technology Associates LLC, a local information services company dedicated to meeting the technology needs of small and medium sized businesses in the Tri-State area. 2005 saw the merger of Information Technology Associates LLC with
Second Creek Web Design LLC of Barboursville forming Second Creek Technologies LLC where Art serves as CTO and Director of IT services. Throughout his career Art has maintained relationships with the local educational and professional community through memberships in various civic and professional organizations like the Huntington Engineers Club, The League of Professional Systems Administrators (LOPSA), The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), DECUS, and serving as adjunct faculty for the Marshall University Community College. In keeping with continued education, Art completed his Masters of Science in Computer Information Systems in January of 2006.
