About Second Creek
Meet the Second Creek Team
David Irvin, Chief Operations Officer
There are no secrets that time does not reveal.--Jean Racine, Britannicus (1669)
David is a computer forensic analyst, information technology consultant, and technology manager with over 20 years of professional experience. He provides our clients strong expertise in ediscovery, data recovery, disaster recovery, and long-term technology planning.
He was born in Huntington, WV, and even though he has lived in Florida and California, he has always considered West Virginia his home. He moved back to West Virginia from Southern California after completing his time in service with the U.S. Marine Corps. It was as a Marine that David began his professional experience working with computers and technology.
After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, David started his civilian career in technology working with IBM mainframes for a large bank in WV. After working in the banking industry for a few years, he accepted a position as a computer/network technician with University Computing Services at Marshall University, Huntington, WV. After working for Marshall for a few years, David was recruited by Inco Alloys International, Inc. to help transition their localized serial/Token Ring network to a multistate Ethernet/IP based network.
In 1997, David left Inco Alloys International, Inc. to help start a regional technology services company with his friends. Over the next few years, they grew the company to a premier technology services provider with more than 120 employees. In 2002, David decided to join a smaller firm that focused solely on consulting - Information Technology Associates, LLC. It was with ITA that he helped merge two different technology companies to form Second Creek Technologies, LLC.
After working with data recovery and disaster preparedness with customers, David found the transition to computer forensics a natural step in his career progression - that and the local police department asked for his help with some deleted files. Since then, he has used his expertise to help clients locate evidence in cases dealing with corporate theft, medical fraud, divorce, homicide, accidental death, and breach of contract.
David has a Master of Science Computer Science and is currently working on his Master of Business Administration with the University of Phoenix. He has served as active adjunct faculty for Marshall University CTC and Marshall University Continuing Education Division for over ten years. In addition, he teaches Continuing Legal Education courses that are approved in WV and OH.
