Meet the Second Creek Team
John Sammons, Chief Executive Officer
John was born in Xenia, Ohio, but moved to West Virginia with his parents when he was 9 years old. He has lived in the state ever since and has strong ties to his community. He currently makes his home in the Huntington area with his wife and two daughters.
John began his career in law enforcement with the Huntington Police Department in 1989. Starting as a patrol officer, he advanced to corporal/detective. As a detective, John spent most of his career investigating drug trafficking within the metro Huntington area. He also spent time investigating white collar crimes such as forgery, fraud and embezzlement. John’s cases were successfully prosecuted in both state and federal courts. John was recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice for his work investigating drug dealing in Huntington.
In 1998 he switched his career from law enforcement to information technology, serving as the Chief Information Officer for Wordworks, Inc. In 2002 he founded Second Creek Web Design which developed Web sites for local, national, and international companies. In 2005 he merged Second Creek Web Design with Information Technology Associates, an IT services company based in Huntington, to form Second Creek Technologies, LLC.
With the creation of Second Creek Technologies John has been able to successfully merge his law enforcement and information technology experiences to bring a unique service to West Virginia. He holds a Masters Degree in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University and has completed numerous courses in eDiscovery, computer forensics, digital evidence, and is a certified electronic discovery specialist. He is part of the adjunct faculty for Marshall University and works closely with the Marshall University Forensic Science Center and the department of Integrated Science and Technology.
In his current position as CEO of Second Creek Technologies, LLC John combines all of his professional experiences and education to provide quality information technology, Web design, and computer forensic services to West Virginia and the surrounding areas.
